INTERVISIBLE DESIGN
THE MUSEUM OF ICE CREAM
The intention for this project was to create an experiential space in which visitors to the 'Museum of Ice Cream' could grasp the joyful sensations of mint-chocolate ice cream. The manifestation was a sensorial exhibition in which users could touch, taste, smell, and interact with mint chocolate motifs and become immersed in a novel environment with unique sculptural elements. The primary features of the space were the 'jungle' of oversized mint plants, fabricated from heat-pressed vinyl sheets covered in rubber and amalgamated together with steel wire stems ; and the 'legendary' golden chocolate wall panels, made from machined MDF boards painted with an automotive finish and embedded with small cabinets containing curious smells and ice cream factoids.
