INTERVISIBLE DESIGN
OSARO
For this project, I served as the lead technical designer and architectural consultant, working alongside Othrspace Interiors to transform a 30,000 sq. ft. office space for OSARO, a robotics and machine learning startup based in San Francisco, CA.
The project began with a detailed as-built assessment of the space and an exploration of creative opportunities within the constraints of a stripped-down warehouse environment and a limited budget. The client required a comprehensive understanding of how employees and potential clients interact with the space, identifying which functionalities should remain and where creative enhancements could better support their business objectives.
Given the scale of the office, we approached the design with a holistic perspective, considering the journey and flow through the space. This included integrating branded touchpoints and vinyl decals, optimizing movement through workspace areas, showcasing the robotics lab, and creating a functional and inviting atmosphere in the conference rooms.
To address acoustic and lighting challenges, our team conducted daylighting simulation studies and researched materials for sound absorption to ensure the space was not only visually appealing but also comfortable and practical for daily use.
We also introduced new seating zones, reimagined furniture layouts, and updated lighting fixtures to create informal gathering areas that fostered collaboration and social interaction. Beyond providing design concepts and visualizations, we managed and coordinated with contractors to ensure the successful execution of the build.
